The new intelog table is designed to help primary care professionals prescribe or recommend suitable ocular lubricants for patients with dry eye.

The brand names of available preparations are grouped by generic ingredient, including carbomer, carmellose, hypromellose and sodium hyaluronate. The table provides details of each product's dose form (drops, gel or ointment), strength, dosage, container (multi-dose or single use), cost and lens compatibility.

Links are included to the full intelog entries for more detailed prescribing information on each product.

For patients who are hypersensitive to specific eye drop ingredients, the new table can be used alongside the intelog table of preservatives and potential sensitisers in ophthalmic preparations.
